Marsh; mellow.

For months I wondered what was beneath the big open expanses of snow. Marsh, naturally, but I didn't quite believe it till I saw it. Here it is ... vast marshness, delimited by forest.
Marsh; mellow.
This completes a nice collection
on this blog: a North-South cut through the planes of Russia and central Asia. 1000km further south, around Astana, is the Kazakh Steppe...
Steppe free access.
And another 1000km-ish south, near Almaty, is the Kazakh semi-desert ...
Semi-desert. Kind of like a plain digestive biscuit.
